CATCH Grants

Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Resident Grants support pediatric residents in the planning and/or implementation of community-based child health initiatives. Grants of up to $2,000 are awarded twice each year on a competitive basis for pediatric residents to address the needs of the underserved children in their communities. Applications are available May to July and November to January. To ensure project completion, residents who are in their 1st or 2nd year of residency on the application submission due date are eligible to apply; 3rd-year residents may apply as co-applicants, or as primary applicants if they will be chief resident in their 4th year. Also eligible: PL-3 or below in medicine-pediatrics residency and PL-4 or below in triple-board residency.  Fellowship trainees are eligible for up to $10,000 and must elect to apply for either a Planning Grant or an Implementation Grant.

This database allows you to find information on grants funded through the CATCH Program, the Healthy Tomorrows Program, the Community Pediatrics Training Initiative and the Healthy People 2010 Chapter Grants dating back to 1989. AAP Friends of Children Healthy People 2020 Grant Program for Chapters - Substance Use Across the Lifespan

The District Vice Chairpersons Committee reviewed the Healthy People 2020 pediatric objectives and determined that the next round of chapter grants will focus on substance use across the lifespan. The intent will be for the chapters to work with a coalition of health care professionals, public health, scientific, and parent organizations on programs related to this topic. This year, five chapters will be awarded $20,000 each to develop and implement innovative programs. The application deadline is March 31, 2017. If you have questions about the grant program, please contact Hope Hurley, Manager, District Relations, Division of Chapter and District Relations, at 800/433-9016, ext 7933, or [email protected].
