The North Dakota Pediatric Mental Health Care Access (PMHCA) program strives to increase the capacity of primary care settings to serve children and adolescents who have behavioral health needs. This is achieved by providing educational opportunities specific to the behavioral health needs of pediatric patients via bi-monthly ECHO webinars, conferences, and psychiatric consultations. Additionally there is a collaborative care team component that connects pediatric patients to community-based behavioral health referral services. Rural primary care providers that enroll in the PMHCA program receive support treating their pediatric clients who have behavioral health disorders.
